Few words about the
exhibition
On exhibition «Defense and Security-2003» Russian Federation was
presented by companies from Moscow, Perm, Tumen, Tcheliabinsk,
Miass and certainly from Ekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk region: “Soling-Ekaterinburg”,
“Asia-Rubej-Service”, “Zachita informatsii”, “Jentek”, “Oko” ,
“Sviaz PTK”, “Orgteknika-centre” , “Spetsavtomatika” , “Skit” ,
“Fort” , “Centre of fire security “Zachita” , “Centre of security
technologies”, “Centre of ecological surviving” , “Extreme pro”
, “Air-stile Ural”, “DATAKRAT”, “Terna-Ekaterinburg”.
For four days the exhibition was visited by about 3000 specialists
from Ekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk region (Novouralsk, Kamensk-Uralskij,
Asbest, Nizhni Taguil, Sysert), Perm region and St. Petersburg.
Structure of visitors: chiefs of enterprises
and firms – 18%; middle-level managers – 33%; others – 49%.

principal aims of the participants were the search of new contacts,
advertising, market-searching, receiving information about new
technologies and production.

At the moment the Urals is the most rapidly developing region
of Russia. Richest natural resources, concentration of big industrial
enterprises, trading export and import, original culture and arts
provide great interest of home and foreign politics, entrepreneurs,
financiers and artists. Growing economic independence of the Urals
was provided by the Government of Sverdlovsk region and the policy
of our authorities that made our city one of the most important
centers of Russia, it is often called “the third capital of Russia”
(after Moscow and S.-Petersburg). Also consulates of foreign states
are being opened, at the moment there are American and British
consulates established in Ekaterinburg. All this was an impetus
for further improvement of investment policy in the Urals and the
interest of foreign businessmen and investors for the Ural market
has been growing. Keen necessity in setting up and maintenance
of regional and international economic ties contribute to the exhibition
activity growth in the region.
